Training Curriculum
Honey Care will undertake the responsibility of training the people selected by the project implementers to ensure that the hives are properly maintained to ensure maximum honey production. This curriculum is Honey Care Africa's Apiarist Level I Training. This training will have the following key components:
Nature of the Training
Every effort will be made to ensure that the training is as practical, hands-on, and based on experiential learning as the conditions allow rather than being solely focusing on theoretical training. Honey Care Africa has applied this praxis method for teaching bee keeping quite effectively across the country.
Training Materials
Honey Care Africa will provide the entire requisite writing material for the trainees as well as basic pictorial reference material that succinctly summarizes some of the key aspects of the training for all trainees.
Honey Care Africa will provide its own hives and other teaching aids for the training sessions. Complete Training Manuals will also be available on sale at an extra cost.
Training Duration and Logistics
Given the large number of trainees and the logistics of organizing the training, we recommend that once we have one group of 25 people will begin training. Each training session will last at most three days. This time is enough to give the trainees a basic understanding of the new technology and help them become more familiar with the hives.
A training schedule can be arranged to meet your requirements within our existing courses or we can tailor a course to suit your requirements. We recommend that your appointed beekeeper comes onto the course before your hives are delivered.
Training Instructor
Honey Care Africa offers some of the most experienced and committed Training Instructors in the region. Our Instructors have been conducting bee keeping training for farmers and demonstrations on bee keeping technology across the country under the various projects. They are recognized by projects funded by the World Bank, Soros Foundation, and the European Union.
Our instructors are graduates in Microbiology / Environmental Science, and have considerable hands-on experience as beekeepers.

The course is normally charged Kshs3, 500.
Kshs2,000 is for food and accommodation, the rest Kshs I,500 is tuition fee.
Day scholars are charged Kshs 1,500 tuition fee.
Venue
